Everyone wears a mask. What we see of people on the surface is so rarely what’s ticking underneath. And, in Cortland Hunt’s case, what he’s hiding might just be more than Ian Tanner is prepared for.
Breaks is the story of two young adults coming to terms with who they were, who they are and who they’ll become.
It’s a love story…but a little broken.

HARVEY! This twist may answer a question asked during Cortland's confession scene at the graveyard, haha! It was a very well observed question, wondering how Connie was able to so easily forge the earlier injury etc etc - and here's the answer. She didn't. Cortland only believed she did. *gulp* Oh, harv...
Hey hey, my lovely BREAKers! xx So - this coming weekend is Thoughtbubble in Leeds; a fantastic comic festival that I urge you to head along to if you're in the area. So many great creators heading along! I'll be on table 11 of the 'Originals' marquee and I'll have BREAKS with me, of course, as well as some of the special issue 7 sketch covers. Come along and say hi if you can :)

Okay, we all knew something was coming, but HOLY CRAP did I not expect that at all. For one thing, poor Harv, but on the other hand, I cannot BELIEVE that he and Connie didn't tell Cort about this! They just let him believe it was 100% sure that he straight-up killed a dude. At the very least, it seems like they could have told him the head injury thing wasn't a lie. They're just...all so bad at emotions and relationships...
@'Thene: I'm so pleased that this twist was as much of a suprise as we'd hoped! xx You guys are all so good at guessing, so we weren't sure we'd get away with it :D
And yeah...it's a hell of a thing to put on someone. Is it enough to cancel out the good they've done in taking care of Cort? It's a really hard situation to get your head around, eh?
lmao.. i'm p*ing my pants right now.. the drama turning out like this cracks me up even if it's tragic. Cort, actually you're a perfect normal regular guy after all. you just have 1 more freak in your weirdo family - a murderer. parents, sibling, they're all way worse than you are. isn't life thrilling somehow.
@Kyle H: For the murder/manslaughter charge, yep - the legal loophole protects harvey as much as Cort...buuuuut, it was still assault, and - more worrying for him now - he lied and hid information that was relevant to the case. :(
