So - as we warned, this scene is going to explain a lot about Cort's life the last few years...and it's not a happy story. We promise we'll get back to the funny stuff at some point! But, for now, Ian - and we - are going to have to see how we feel about the boy telling the story...

wait.. i know i tend to mix up things but... Cort had an "accident" (well he killed someone) in the ring, right? or is my addled brain farting hallucinated memories?
with this here which indeed doesn't sound good, that would make another "accident" involving severe injuries or worse, right?

Love this story so far and the art is beautiful.

Ian's expression in the first panel is just perfection.

whatever his mistakes were, it seems Cort has been paying for them for a long while. not only through court assigned punishment but by carrying a shit-load on his shoulders, being scared of his own shadow. It's time to forgive yourself, Cort, even if not forget. Let Ian be a clean slate for what you want to be, not what you're running from..

@portisHeart: Ahh, there's some confusion there that, after this scene, will all slip into place, I think. His dreams get confused and that nightmare spread pulls in a lot of different parts of his experience. So, he was a boxer and he watched his father die in the ring, and he (wrongly) blames boxing for his actions and is trying to reconciliate now, but he didn't kill anyone in the ring himself. His nightmares tend to conflate the two strands of his life as he sees them as so intertwined x

@P.: Poor Ian. He's taking in so much right now. Cortland's giving him this chance...honesty is what Ian wanted. But was he ready for this? 0_O
Cort pays every day, you're so right, but he's not as fast a healer inside as he is on the outside. And without official punishment, it's hard to feel like he's atoned. But i'm getting ahead of myself for this scene ;)

Woooooah! Now that's revenge alright. Cortland is one hard guy to mess with. It seems obvious he would take out his anger on them. It sure was hard on both of him and the guy in hospital.

@cherish.york: Yeah...he's right to be ashamed of that anger, but he's wrong to believe that boxing was part of the problem - it's what he's trying to learn now...managing it is better than unleashing it!
