Everyone wears a mask. What we see of people on the surface is so rarely what’s ticking underneath. And, in Cortland Hunt’s case, what he’s hiding might just be more than Ian Tanner is prepared for.
Breaks is the story of two young adults coming to terms with who they were, who they are and who they’ll become.
It’s a love story…but a little broken.

Looks like Cort is gonna have some problems...blackmail? Or just beat the shit out of the guy and ruin the birthday party and Ian's plans to break up and commit to Cort? *flops on ground cause I have to wait another week*
@sstogner1: No you have it mixed up, Cortland thought he knew about the murder/beating he gave the guy in the flash backs. No he only knows about his past boxing career, which is why cortland is all calm now.
hm, why is Spence so happy/proud of his "knowledge" of Cort's past (not even realizing he ignores the best/worst part), he's like he just invented breakfast cereal or something.. so what, he knows Cort was a boxer. big deal..
Spencer is an imbecile, he thinks he's hot shit now that he thinks he knows something "secret", That probably is pretty common knowledge if you looked for it on the webs. Spencer is probably just jealous that Cortland is million times better looking than him. It's probably why he calls him girl face.
...........Ok, now I am actually certain that Spence is stupid.
I have a blackbelt in my class and I would NEVER try to push her buttons. She could probably send me to hospital for life.
And HE is provoking a BOXER? Dude, do you WANT to lose all your teeth or something?
I am quite sure that Cort would LOVE to help you to a concussion as well, if you ask "nicely".
Am I the only one thinking that Spence actually isn't trying to get in a fight with Cort? To me it looks like he is actually aknowledging Cort for his fighting capability or something. Yes he is throwing some "insults" like "girl face", but come on no one expects a full turn of attitude. Still too early to judge though. I might be totally wrong on this. But it would be a pleasant surprise if he tried to change his attitude for the better. He might just don't know how without leaving some of the insults out. Baby steps.
@Cornflakes : haha! Spence has referenced Cortland's face, and being irritated by it, before...do we suspect a hint of being threatened there, Spence? ;)The again, something tells me that 'pretty boy' is not a look Spence aspires to :D
@MoonByte: haha, your method sounds sensible! Of course, there's a chance she's way less likely to lash out than someone not trained - learning to control that ability is a big part of the training. But Cortland and his anger management issues don't necessarily follow that pattern, and Spence has seen that in action! LOL. Cort would very gladly take out a few teeth, I'm sure!
@annann: You're right ^_^ This is now just a bit of a man-on-man 'chat'. Maybe not one either boy would choose to be in, but Spence can feel smug, thinking he's controlling the conversation, and Cortland can feel relieved, knowing Spence is as ignorant as anyone else. Who'd have imagined these two could have a conversation, eh?!
@EmmaVieceli: Of course she wouldn't just go and use her stuff. I meant I would never REALLY piss her off BECAUSE she is most certainly stronger than me.
And Cort's not really well known for his patience, so...
