Everyone wears a mask. What we see of people on the surface is so rarely what’s ticking underneath. And, in Cortland Hunt’s case, what he’s hiding might just be more than Ian Tanner is prepared for.
Breaks is the story of two young adults coming to terms with who they were, who they are and who they’ll become.
It’s a love story…but a little broken.

Confession time, for real! What do we think Cortland had expected to hear? It seems that the truth, whatever it means to him, is a little overwhelming!
But, Ian seems to have escaped a beating...which speask volumes, eh? :)
Awws I'm so glad Ian is being honest, but Cort is running away now ;-; I'm guessing that Cort was hoping that it was just a joke to Ian and so he wouldn't have to deal with his feelings. Just a guess though. I'm surprised to tell the truth. I didn't expect Cort to be the one so distressed by this. Hes taking this even worse than Ian. Ian might be afraid and believes that what he is feeling for Cort is wrong, but at least he isn't denying it now. I'm curious to know what it is that is distressing Cort so much. Is it the same thing as Ian or is he afraid to open up his feelings to someone else in general or is it something else. Will just have to wait and see :D
Hello I have a question, cort is he gay or not ? Because in the beginning of the story I thought that he was gay, I thought that he told us that he was gay.
So is he or not or I invented this ? Please I'm frustrated
@MalinRyden: but does he know? i mean, is he consciously gay or whatever? or is he about to discover that like Ian is doing right now? (because yeh, with the theme, there's no real surprise indeed :p )
@MalinRyden: @Antaresia: yeah - as Malin says, this is a boy who may know his own mind, but can be terrified of following it sometimes. He may never have.
As a lot of us will know, I'm sure, there's a world of difference between thinking you may know what you are and acting on it. Cortland had maybe assumed Ian was testing himself, wondering about his own sexuality and using Cort as he was convenient...but to hear that it was more than that; that feelings are involved? Cue Cortland in 'cannot deal right now' mode. XD
Cortland doesn't seem like someone that keen to let people close...
@annann: Yeah, this got serious suddenly and Cort doesn't seem able to deal so well. He'd maybe assumed Ian was using Cort to test himself, but to hear direct feelings are involved - that's a whole different thing 0_O
I'm really adoring Ian lately. For a guy who spends so much time dicking around and being goofy, when confronted by Cort it's surprising how much he allows himself to be genuinely honest and vulnerable. Even if the truth isn't flattering. Like, damn, that's REALLY not an easy thing to do, especially when Cort is so aggressively guarded (for good reason). Pretty excited to see how this all pans out!
This was a really, really well-done couple of pages. I love the artwork and I feel like I can tell what each boy is feeling even without dialogue necessarily explaining it all. Looking forward to more!
