Everyone wears a mask. What we see of people on the surface is so rarely what’s ticking underneath. And, in Cortland Hunt’s case, what he’s hiding might just be more than Ian Tanner is prepared for.
Breaks is the story of two young adults coming to terms with who they were, who they are and who they’ll become.
It’s a love story…but a little broken.

We have reached the end of issue five, you guys! What a delight your reactions to the last couple of pages have been. I'd love to reply to every one of them, but time is against me. Be sure that we READ every one of them even if we can't always reply. They are our lifeblood! xx Thank you so much for being with us for so long!
We hope you'll find enough to keep you coming back, even after 'the kiss' ^_~ The end of the issue does suggest, as I'm sure you've figured, that there's a lot more work to do before the course of true love runs smoothly.
Not to mention the mystery and drama of pasts and mistakes still to be addressed. *dramatic music*
Thanks again, guys. This is a double update, so I'll duplicate this comment on both pages. ^_^
"You weren't supposed to remember" yeah, that's exactly what Cortland wants to hear right now, Ian. *sigh* maybe at least he'll learn his lesson for next time and have an actual conversation before kissing someone rather than doing it while drunk, or AT LEAST rather than kissing someone who's sedated. Poor idiot really needs to figure out how to romance.
Ahh, Ian. He has been an asshat, indeed. I can understand why Cortland hit him but I think he went a little far here. I feel he didn't pull that punch so it's got to hurt from an ex boxer. But, Jesus Christ, Ian isn't helping himself on this page, haha.
He obviously has some growing up to do and I hope he has a good think about how he can redeem himself to Cortland. He's shown himself to be the worst kind of coward twice now.
I just want to let you know how much I adore this comic!!! I can't wait to read the rest of it. I'm glad I found it so close to this point, because I think I would have gone nuts waiting, but I'm very glad it seems like there's a lot of story left. Thank you for sharing this with us :).
I've loved this comic for quite a while now, but I'm not a person who usually comments...
Thought I'd break my routine and tell you what a great job you're doing at making me feel emotions :D
I'm never sure which exactly, but boy do I feel a lot of them.
@r-o-t-a: he has, he really has. And he should probably be glad Cortland was limited to his left hand, eh? I mean, we've seen what Cort CAN do...he didn't....so there's something else here, at least :)
