Everyone wears a mask. What we see of people on the surface is so rarely what’s ticking underneath. And, in Cortland Hunt’s case, what he’s hiding might just be more than Ian Tanner is prepared for.
Breaks is the story of two young adults coming to terms with who they were, who they are and who they’ll become.
It’s a love story…but a little broken.

The eternal question here is: Does Amilah know exactly what she's doing (and can we blame her)? Or is this an innocent slip of information? either way, it's taken Cortland by surprise, and we know how much he likes surprises...uh-oh!
But like I've said before... it looks like Amilah's got that feeling that something is going on and she definitely knows what she is doing and looks like she doesn't want to make things easier for the boys either. Can you blame her? not really. BUT since she strikes me as someone that knows whats going on around her it surprises me she is keeping up with the bullcrap and doesn't end it herself. Easier said than done though since it really is only a feeling and we don't really know if she is sure that her bf has the hots for another guy ;p
Really curious too see how Cort will react to that... maybe he'll be mad, maybe he'll understand that not jumping in a fight (even if it was for helping out) was not really a stupid choice (since we all know what complications that could have brought).
Oh and another thing about Amilah... why not bring up the fact that Ian was the one to call the ambulance though? (looks like she pretty much knows what information to bring up).
...Oh my...this is the worst possible situation ever. Cortland's expression almost broke my heart.
When I remember the first page of this comic, where we can see Cortland and Ian kissing, I think I've seen some bruises on their hands...hope they won't get into a "fight" onto the next pages, even though Ian could deserve one or two punches...(...and in the same time I love this character, even though he screwed up orz good luck boys, you'll need it!!)
@annann: I love your insight. Amilah is a very intelligent girl, and the most likely of this lot to ever achieve something out of life, it seems. But she also feels.
As to the ambulance...no worries, check today's page :) Amilah isn't necessarily just dropping Ian in it, at least. ^_^
