Everyone wears a mask. What we see of people on the surface is so rarely what’s ticking underneath. And, in Cortland Hunt’s case, what he’s hiding might just be more than Ian Tanner is prepared for.
Breaks is the story of two young adults coming to terms with who they were, who they are and who they’ll become.
It’s a love story…but a little broken.

Happy bithday and thanks for doing it the hobbit way and giving US a gift.
I wonder how she'll respond...
I like her but this scene is giving me a bad feeling cause even though she's smart not to flatly reject him since he'd go stronger into her but wether she would or nots I feel it wouldn't be bellow him to try to rape her if some simple factors like use of drugs(like him being drunk), a mood swing(him having oh so many) or her being isolated together with him with nowhere to run or scream.
So I'd been reading this weekly for ages - near the beginning - and then life got in the way so I thought I'd read all of it before catching up on the last few months, hence the ridiculously late comment.
Re-reading it in a bunch gives a completely different feel to the story and really shows how well Milly uses the friendly shut down with a strong, scary guy who keeps on flirting at her and has control issues.
This scene really puts the flirtyish texts in a whole new light. She was still shutting him down every time but was getting less careful because it had been a while since Spencer properly... Spenced? (I don't words good) and Ian was being Ian and had ruined her dress with punch. Cort's beating must have been a hell of a reminder about how bad Spencer can be so she's back to stopping advances properly.
And this is all an aside to the simmering tension with Ian and Cort, the mysterious mystery of the Hunts' past, why Ian 'Ians' all the time and what-happened-with-or-to-Irena. This comic is brilliant.
