Everyone wears a mask. What we see of people on the surface is so rarely what’s ticking underneath. And, in Cortland Hunt’s case, what he’s hiding might just be more than Ian Tanner is prepared for.
Breaks is the story of two young adults coming to terms with who they were, who they are and who they’ll become.
It’s a love story…but a little broken.

So...Cortland is back at school. And Spence is speechless. Oho! Watch the school rumours fly. :D
It was so lovely meeting a few of you at the MCM event this weekend. I can't tell you how much it means to hear that someone can empathise with characters or is rooting for a certain character. It's just amazing, and makes it all feel worthwhile. Thank you! ^_^
Hopefully we'll see a few new readers join us this week too!
Noooo. Cort >.> I actually sighed when I read that last panel. He could have walked inside without saying anything. But this wouldn't be Cort if he hadn't.
That said, he looks just so damn pretty in that panel (doesn't he always?), and I really don't like the way Spence and the gang are seemingly awaiting his arrival at the door. They're silent, but it seems like intimidation and bullying all the same.
Also... I find Harvey's comment interesting. All the effort he's put into Cortland(I'm on my phone so I don't have the page immediately in front of me and need to paraphrase, sorry)? What exactly is he talking about, I wonder?
It was great talking with you at London MCM. It's a shame I had to get back to my table and couldn't talk longer.
Cort, really? Still in a cast, first day back, and you're already provoking the guy who put you here. I would expect no less. I am curious how Ian is going to react to all of this, though I doubt he's surprised either. I can imagine he must be getting pretty exasperated with it all by now, thinking 'Why can't he just back down?' or more accurately, 'Why can't he be more like me?'
I have a lot of respect for Cort right now. It may not be doing him any good but it's nice to see someone not sit on their hands and just take it.
@AngryAngel: For sure! Harvey is verry interesting in terms of his choice of words. ^_^
And ah, Cort - still a firecracker. But hey, he's not about to look meek in front of Spence. He's walking a careful line. Confident, but not threatening. Good lad! ^_^
@MoonByte: haha - awww. Cort wants to be seen as not shaken by Spence. He's here, and he's confident (on the outside at least) and, most importantly maybe, he's not lashing out physically...which is probably a big challenge for him. EEEK!
@r-o-t-a: Hey! It was so great to meet you. I'm so glad you took the time to come and say hi ^_^
And hehe - that's Cort for you! Then again, a meek return to school could have made Spence feel he'd achieved something. But this? Confidence? Unshaken? It's a statement.
I like to think that Ian is looking just a little bit impressed in that bottom panel :D
Oh~ Ian, don't think I don't see you blushing at your crush there! *waggles brows* Can't help it I guess when he's lookin' both cute and fierce af!
Now...if only you know that /he/ knows *wistful sigh*
