Everyone wears a mask. What we see of people on the surface is so rarely what’s ticking underneath. And, in Cortland Hunt’s case, what he’s hiding might just be more than Ian Tanner is prepared for.
Breaks is the story of two young adults coming to terms with who they were, who they are and who they’ll become.
It’s a love story…but a little broken.

And here's the double page.
A beat. A moment.
It struck me when posting that Cortland is a bit like a stinging nettle in this scene. Harvey's gentle reaching got him stung...but the stumble and catch meant that Ian was harder to recoil from. But how long can a moment like this last?
And again - thank you, thank you for commenting. We've had a bit of an influx of new readers over the last couple of weeks. It's lovely to know who's out there and I'm overjoyed at some of the character nuance that you guys are picking up on. ^_^
Sooo, I totally wasn't anxiously checking this for perhaps an early update for, like, days in advance or anything....... nope.
Ugh, and then I was impatient, of course, and looked at it on my phone on Monday, at work, and I simply had to pause for a moment and stare at this. THIS. The feels. I am so glad you made this a double update, thank you! I love the way their relationship is developing. Ian looks a little helpless here, but at least he stuck around this time and didn't bail. Cort is just breaking my little heart. I don't even know what else to say. You can tell he's hurting so much, and he's internalizing it all. Poor guy :(
