Everyone wears a mask. What we see of people on the surface is so rarely what’s ticking underneath. And, in Cortland Hunt’s case, what he’s hiding might just be more than Ian Tanner is prepared for.
Breaks is the story of two young adults coming to terms with who they were, who they are and who they’ll become.
It’s a love story…but a little broken.

And that's a wrap on this scene. Ian walks away, perhaps guilt-ridden, perhaps confused, with an extra piece of the puzzle that is the boy in the bed...and Zane is left a little bemused himself, it seems :)
Thank you SO MUCH for the comments. As ever, you guys are insightful and wonderful. Next week is an exciting double page spread update! But I have no idea how it will look here on Smackjeeves. I suspect I'll need to upload a version somewhere else as well, but let's see how it goes. You'll definitely want to see it at full size, I'll say that much :)
See you all next week, guys!
Oh, Ian. Feeling like a bit of a jackass now? He really didn't behave like a "friend" at all, did he. In several ways! But I do feel for him. I wonder what he's going to do next. I like how unpredictable he is. And how is Cortland going to behave once he's awake?? I am most definitely excited about this big update you mentioned :D (well any update, let's be real here)
@Joemon8: I'm so glad you're able to empathise in some way. Though I hope you don't have a 'friend' like Spence to deal with 0_o
it makes me happy that people still think of Cort as the badass he is. It's hard to remember him flipping at the school party right now, isn't it? But I'm glad people remember. It's key to how this episode affects him. :)
@AngryAngel: hehe, yeah! Oh, Ian. What a good friend you are. Gawd, it's all so awful and awkward. He 'should' be feeling pretty guilty right now. Some friend. 0_o
Cortland will be back with the world very soon! Remember that angry kid with the dark rumours surrounding him who flipped out at the party? Ian certainly does, and he's probably right to be a might wary...muahaha. :D
But yes, Ian is nothing if not a little unpredictable, so how will he handle this? *popcorn*
