Everyone wears a mask. What we see of people on the surface is so rarely what’s ticking underneath. And, in Cortland Hunt’s case, what he’s hiding might just be more than Ian Tanner is prepared for.
Breaks is the story of two young adults coming to terms with who they were, who they are and who they’ll become.
It’s a love story…but a little broken.

This was not an easy page to make. Here we go! Last page of issue two and what a way to go. :(
It was a tough scene when we wrote the prose version, and it only got harder having to make it visual.
Painful things happening, physically and mentally, and there's no turning back now.
Things have changed.
poor Cort he's trying but
There just to many of them what a bunch of cowards I have this bad feeling that Ian is not gonna interfere . I'm guessing he'll watch until there done then call for a ambulance or at least make sure he gets to a hospital .I feel like he feels bad for Cortland but he's also thinking that he tried to tell Cortland to be more careful and he didn't take his advice so what else could he do he tried .
@3o-s-knight: We always knew we wanted readers to feel things were a little set on their path...so they knew a fight was coming. But this? This was meant to be shockingly worse than what was expected. Like what like it was on rails is suddenly not. I hope that worked!
Ian is not in a good place right now. But I guess it's better than where Cortland is :(
I've been getting cold feet recently because I knew we were coming up to the point where it all changes...and part of BREAKS is that it's real, and characters make stupid choices and are not heroes and we might hate them at times, but still...I'm sort of nervous. :D
@raziesgirl : It's hard to imagine being where Ian is. We'd all like to think we're the sort of person who would jump in and be a hero...but in reality, it's a very, very brave thing to do. And Ian probably wishes he was braver right now. Then again, Cortland is brave (or at least stubborn). And look where it got him. *cry*
I thought it'd be near the movies.
I don't imagine Courland not being a runner good enough to get caught or that can't cause the underlings enough pain for them to quit being support lowering the outnumbering at best he should know where there is a police station or a place with video cameras in wich Spence would get in trouble for picking the fight.
He's just too anoyingly casual on trying not to get in trouble...
I feel kinda sorry for Ian but he's not that good on choosing friends.
I guess on a fight between people you don't know it'd be easier but he has to go to school with them guess he should at least record the fight with his cell and then tell the police.
@LADYKAZUMI: I know...sorry! The page you commented on earlier was actually the replacement page that I uploaded because we'd lost page 45 in the server issues. But it seems smackjeeves have managed to restore the lost pages and have reset comics, so that page I re-uploaded has now been deleted and this one has been reinstated. I logged on to discover the same thing. :)
A little confusing, but yes...the page you commented on was a replacement that was deleted by smackjeeves when they reinstated the 'lost' page from what I can tell.
Hope that makes sense!
