Everyone wears a mask. What we see of people on the surface is so rarely what’s ticking underneath. And, in Cortland Hunt’s case, what he’s hiding might just be more than Ian Tanner is prepared for.
Breaks is the story of two young adults coming to terms with who they were, who they are and who they’ll become.
It’s a love story…but a little broken.

I've always loved this page. Finally a glimpse of Ian and Milly when they're at home and away from the school social boiling pot. It's nice to realise that they are friends and can be this comfortable with each other - even if their relationship status (we suspect) is in for a shock.
Looks like that moment won't last long though...
@booisl33t: well spotted! I actually have another, newer, version of this page with the stripes...and I've obviously uploaded an old version doh! I'll replace it tomorrow when I'm back at the computer, thanks :)
@BurstThrough: There are so many complex and painful things going on with these kids. Ian feels trapped because he knows what happens to people who cross Spence (although we don't yet, of course...but we can assume it's not that nice), and Spence? Well, all we know at this stage is that his Father does hit him. was it for fighting or for losing or for picking a useless fight? We don't know. But Spence knows his Father has the authority in their relationship, and his Father wins it through violence. And that's a horrible, destructive message to put in any young man's mind. :(
