Everyone wears a mask. What we see of people on the surface is so rarely what’s ticking underneath. And, in Cortland Hunt’s case, what he’s hiding might just be more than Ian Tanner is prepared for.
Breaks is the story of two young adults coming to terms with who they were, who they are and who they’ll become.
It’s a love story…but a little broken.

Hello, BREAKers! ^_^
And especially those of you we may have met at Nine worlds. What an event that was, eh? We had such a good time!
Okay, so here we go...seems that Ian can't help but meddle a little, despite the way he seemed to brush off irena's request. A softie at heart?
Trouble is...Cortland doesn't seem to be hearing this as help in any way. Harrumph.
I'm off to Edinburgh tomorrow for the fringe (this is emma posting), so if you're in the area do come and check out Parade at the CToo. It's a mature, dark musical. Very beautifully written!
Ian that little peace of advice
Didn't seem to go over well what Ian should be doing is telling Spencer to leave Cortland alone enough already but because neither of these guys are gonna listen to a word Ian say's Ian minds well be talking to a brick wall .I get that Ian doesn't want to be in the middle of their mess and I'm sure that he doesn't know what to do with these guys. But I think that if Ian took a firm stance were it came to Spence I think things would change even if it met cutting all contact with him .
irena first and now ian, both warn him not to be entrusted, both remind him that spencer is untrustworthy and that he will seek revenge.
but cortland is ignoring the warnings of both because he thinks spencer will not bother him, for him the matter is finished and has no interest in prolonging the discussion.
In this page we can see that he actually has no fear of a direct confrontation with Spencer, he thinks he can win a fight, and ian believes that too, so it is implied in the conversation. But the thing is that Spencer does not play fair, a warning that keeps repeating and cortland still ignoring ... why?
Does he believed as capable of dealing with anything or he is being naive and trusts that the matter finished without further problems?
is a question that I have and I can not get out of my head.
I don't get these two. What's their relation to each other? In the beginning I thought they simply hated each other, and now they seem friends? Well, there's a certain form of protection, so... What's up with that?
@Roquel: some great insight here! Cortland is a pretty complex character, but one thing he knows he is is strong. In a one on one, he could beat spencer. We saw that much, and so did Ian. How much of Cortland actually wants to fight again, we wonder? And how much of him knows that it's spence crossing a line, not Cortland. So he maybe feels he has the moral high ground...or maybe he's just stubborn. XD
@SamJ: they have a...very competitive relationship, haha. They're each other's 'foil'. You can't help but develop some form of respect for someone when you've spent years trying to one-up them in pranks. They have a weird sort of friendship, built mostly out of taking the piss...but when it comes down to it, they probably know each other's limits and thresholds pretty well because of it. Ian seems to have mis calculated though...oops!
They're an odd pair indeed. ^_~
